Our lanlord is in foreclosure, what can we do?

So we Live in a duplex, (on the top half) And our landlords lived below us, (its their house). Well! When we were first moving in, back in October 2010 They were going through a bad divorce and the wife moved out to a couple towns away. while the husband stayed below us. For the first 3 months He was only home once every couple of weeks, and now he has totally abandoned the house, and has been gone for almost 6 months... Both husband and wife are in some serious debt, and the husband recently filed for bankruptcy. He is a pathological liar and a drunk, and the wife is no better. Well our rent goes to the wife and the wife only, the husband sees no part of our money. From our understanding and through other resources, I guess since both of their names are on the house, and the husband has no money, he lets his wife rent out the top apartment (to us) so she can keep that money and thats how he pays his child support. Well for the past months, we have been constanty getting letters posted all over our door saying he ows thousands and thousands of dollars (he used to own his own construction company, that went under, and he never paid taxes on so their after him for that too), we got a letter saying he ows 160K on past mortgage payments that was due 2 months ago.. Private Investigators have been stopping buy, all sorts of people are stopping buy trying to serve him papers, and we have seen people sneeking around taking pictures of the house and taking off... All we ever have to say is, We do not know where he is, and have not seen him in months, hes in hiding cause all these people are looking for him. We both know he isnt paying on the house and hasnt been for a long time, so its gotta be foreclosing right? Every time we ask them they say oh no no.... your fine, nothings going on, and that they have it under control. Which is a BIG lie... Their both broke, and keep going into more and more debt. Well If this really is the case, We want to purchase the house and buy it for ourselves. How can we go about finding out whats really going on, I know what banks he goes through and got his house loan from and I know almost every company he owes money too.
