Why when i put a blank disc in my computer to burn a dvd it doesnt respond?

I have tried diferent brands of blank disc but it all sucks. It plays dvd's fine it just doesnt like to read them. It says Not Responding until i eject the disc then it works fine but as soon as i put the disc back in it does it again. I have tried Power to go and DVD fab
