Name of book please...?

I remember reading a book in school back in the 80's called Northeast Wind? I don't know if that is the title or not, but that's all I remember about it. It had a common theme about a northeast wind. Evidently it was fantasy or symbolic or something. If anyone has any ideas of what book I am thinking of....I don' t even know the author..
