What would the aftermath of a grenade blowing someone up look like?

In a story I'm writing, a character is blown up by a grenade. I'm trying to describe it, but I'm having trouble visualizing it. Would they just be pierced with fiery shrapnel and fall over intact, or would they literally be blown to pieces like dynamite with chunks of their body everywhere? Sorry if I'm getting a little gory, but I want to describe it accurately. What would it look like?
