Question about becoming a short-term Shabbos Goy?
Okay, so I have been able to observe Shabbos as a Gentile at a Jewish Learning Center/synagogue, and I really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot form the rabbi's cles and lectures he gave during Shabbat. I heard of the term "Shabbos Goy", and it seemed like I could help out around their shul in exchange for sitting in on a few discussions and services to further extend my knowledge on Judaism (this is an Orthodox shul). Would my offering to help out come off as rude or inappropriate in any way? Does anyone, educated Gentile or Jew alike, have any opinions or advice as far as this situation and subject goes? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
