Can i make hcl with electrolysis of salt[aq]?

this is the easiest experiment to do at home, and once i have hcl i can do a lot of other experiments but the problem is that how do i react the h2 and cl2 formed to safely make hcl gas [which i can then bubble in the water to form h+ ions]. i am using a concentrated solution, carbon electrodes [from batteries], and coca cola bottles to collect the gas, but now how do i mix the two gases?
